DrawToWin – OTK Valk W/Guide (Simplified – 10 Cards)

Draw To Win

This is my Draw To Win version of the OTK (One Turn Kill) ValkyrieWhile in your hand: This gets +2 Strength when a Zombie is destroyed. deck. Similar to my DrawToWin Trickster Deck this deck relies on Leprechaun ImpWhen played: Shuffle two Pots of Gold (1 Brain, Draw three cards.) into your deck. and Regifting ZombieWhen played: Each player draws two cards. to provide the majority of the card draw.

Simplified?

This is also what I refer to as a simplified or pure version of the deck meaning that I have stuck to just 10 card types which is the fewest you can use to build a deck. I have chosen 10 cards and have 4 of each card giving the highest percentage chance to draw each card.

How it Works…

As with any OTK Valkyrie deck the goal is to flood the board with as many cheap and weak minions as possible. However, I tend to take a slightly different approach. Many OTK Valkyrie decks simply add as many one and two cost cards as possible. I tend to prefer using cheap cards that actually pose some type of threat so that the opponent has extra incentive to remove them. These can be any cards you prefer, but for this version of the deck I used AbracadaverGravestone When this hurts the Planet Hero, do 3 damage to a random Plant. and Kite FlyerGravestone When this does damage, draw a card. in addition to the standard Fireworks ZombieWhen played: Do 1 damage to all other Plants and Zombies and Barrel of DeadbeardsWhen destroyed: Do 1 damage to all Plants and Zombies, then make an 4/3 Captain Deadbeard here.. Each of these cards presents a specific advantage for me or threat to my opponent, in this case extra card draw and the random 3 damage to any of their plants on the board.

As each of your weaker minions dies, any Valkyrie in your hand gets a buff to it’s attack. Simply keep flooding the board with weak minions and let the opponent take them out until your ValkyrieWhile in your hand: This gets +2 Strength when a Zombie is destroyed. is strong enough to take them out in one turn.

Early Game

In the early game you really want to get as many minions on the board as possible. The inclusion of the Leprechaun ImpWhen played: Shuffle two Pots of Gold (1 Brain, Draw three cards.) into your deck. and Regifting ZombieWhen played: Each player draws two cards. mean that you will have plenty of card draw so you want to make sure you try to get them into your hand and use them as early as possible. If you can, try to get the Leprechaun ImpWhen played: Shuffle two Pots of Gold (1 Brain, Draw three cards.) into your deck. on the board first to increase the chances that your Regifting ZombieWhen played: Each player draws two cards. will be able to gets some Pot of Golds into your hand for even more card draw.

The other critical piece is to get the ValkyrieWhile in your hand: This gets +2 Strength when a Zombie is destroyed. into your hand as early as possible so that she gets buffed as your other minions die. If you do not start with one, then it is even more important to get the extra card draw from Leprechaun ImpWhen played: Shuffle two Pots of Gold (1 Brain, Draw three cards.) into your deck. and Regifting ZombieWhen played: Each player draws two cards. to increase your chances of getting the Valkyrie early enough in the game for it to make a difference. Once you have the Valkyrie in your hand, simply play your minions as you see fit to allow them to die. Don’t forget to use your Fireworks ZombieWhen played: Do 1 damage to all other Plants and Zombies and Barrel of DeadbeardsWhen destroyed: Do 1 damage to all Plants and Zombies, then make an 4/3 Captain Deadbeard here. to help your own minions die when needed.

Mid to Late Game

The middle to late portions of the game should be all about continuing to build up your Valkyrie and looking for opportunities to TeleportYou may play a Zombie as a Trick this turn. Draw a card. in your ValkyrieWhile in your hand: This gets +2 Strength when a Zombie is destroyed. and if possible doing a bonus attack with it using Lurch for LunchA Zombie does a Bonus Attack.. Try not to waste your bonus attacks and teleports on your other minions unless absolutely necessary for survival. With the amount of card draw this deck has, you should not be in a pinch for cards in most situations and so should have plenty of other cards to play while waiting for just the right time to spring your trap.
